This decision is effective immediately

UAE - Mubasher: Emirates airline will cover the coronavirus (COVID-19) medical expenses and quarantine costs for its customers travelling to and from the UAE and around the world, according to Dubai media office.

Emirates announced that if any of its customers were to be diagnosed with COVID-19 during their travel, the airline will pay medical expenses of up to EUR 150,000 and quarantine costs of EUR 100 per day for 14 days.

Hence, Emirates becomes the first airline to cover COVID-19 medical costs for customers of all travel classes.

This decision will be immediately effective and until 30 October 2020.

Commenting on the decision, Emirates Group Chairman and Chief Executive, Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, said: "Emirates has worked hard to put in place measures at every step of the customer journey to mitigate risk of infection, and we have also revamped our booking policies to offer flexibility."
