Riyadh – Mubasher: China’s oil imports from Saudi Arabia grew by 15% on a yearly basis in June 2020 after refiners ordered record volumes during March and April at a time when oil prices collapsed, strengthening the kingdom’s position as the Asian country’s top crude supplier.
China's oil imports from Saudi Arabia reached 8.88 million tonnes in June; equivalent to 2.16 million barrels per day (b/d), Reuters reported on Sunday citing data from China Customs.
Shipments from Russia amounted to 7.98 million tonnes last month or 1.95 million b/d, an increase of 7% when compared to 1.82 million b/d in May 2020 and 1.73 million b/d in June 2019.
China, the world’s largest crude importer, purchased a record high of 53.18 million tonnes in June, according to data.
