Cairo – Mubasher: The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) announced that banks will be closed from Thursday, 30 July, to Monday, 3 August, on the occasion of Eid El-Adha.
Banks will be reopened on Tuesday, 4 August, the CBE said in a statement on Tuesday.
Similarly, the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) said that trading will be halted from 30 July to 3 August to be resumed on 4 August.
The Egyptian prime minister Mostafa Madbouly on Monday announced a five-day holiday for public-sector employees on the occasion of Eid El-Adha.
Earlier on Tuesday, the minister of manpower Mohamed Safaan said that private-sector employees will have a three-day holiday starting from 30 July.
Private business owners can make employees work on these three days with a double payment, Saafan added.
