Saudi ADF approves agricultural loans worth over SAR 337m
Some of the loans will help SMEs gauge the coronavirus pandemic effects

Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia’s Agricultural Development Fund (ADF) has approved a number of loans as well as credit facilities and guarantees worth more than SAR 337 million to support to the kingdom's agricultural sector, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Tuesday.

The approvals included the programme for supporting the working capital and operating costs in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and the fund’s initiative to gauge the effects of the coronavirus pandemic, said the deputy chairman of the fund’s Board of Directors, Munir bin Fahd Al Sahli.

The ADF has provided direct and indirect operating loans to finance the import of agricultural products targeted in the food security strategy. These loans financed the kingdom’s first veterinary hospital for goats, in addition to greenhouse projects, broiler chickens production, and egg powder plant project, among others.

Al Sahli further emphasised that the ADF will continue supporting and financing the agricultural sector and its affiliated services to further enhance its contribution to achieving food security in line with the kingdom’s agricultural policy.
