UAE - Mubasher: The UAE's Etihad Rail has signed an agreement with China's CRRC, the world's largest supplier of rail transit equipment, to be supplied with 842 new wagons.

The new wagons will triple Etihad Rail's fleet to over 1,000, according to a press release on Tuesday.

The Chinese company will supply Etihad Rail with four different types of wagons of different capacities to raise its annual transport capacity by 8 times to 59 million tonnes of goods.

The UAE is establishing a rail network with 1,200 kilometres, running from the border with Saudi Arabia to Fujairah.
