Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s annual core inflation rate retreated to 0.7% in July, compared to 1% a month earlier, according to data released by the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE).
The consumer price index (CPI) recorded a negative 0.1% in July, compared to a positive 0.1% in July 2019 and a negative 0.3% in June 2020.
On Monday, the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) revealed that the country’s annual headline inflation rate rose by 0.2% month-on-month (MoM) to 107.8 points in July.
The annual headline inflation for July registered 4.6% in July, compared to 7.8% in the same month a year earlier and 6% in June 2020, data showed.
