Egypt’s net foreign reserves rise to $38.4bn in August

Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s net international reserves increased by $52 million month-on-month (MoM) to $38.366 billion at the end of August, data by the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) showed on Monday.

The country’s foreign reserves reached $38.314 billion in July and $38.201 billion in June.

In May, Egypt received a $2.7 billion loan from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) under the rapid financing instrument (RFI).

In addition, the government also reached a staff-level agreement with the IMF on a $5.2 billion standby loan.
