Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Thursday’s trading session on a positive note on the back of local purchases.

The benchmark EGX30 index advanced by 1.29% to end at 11,070 points, while the small- and mid-cap EGX70 EWI climbed by 3.11% to 1,857 points.

Similarly, the EGX100 EWI rose by 2.84% to 2,736 points, whereas the EGX50 index added 2.78% to 1,985 points.

The market cap value grew by EGP 7.6 billion to register EGP 616.822 billion.

Local investors were net buyers with EGP 42.45 million, while foreign and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 4.9 million and EGP 37.5 million, respectively.

The market’s turnover stood at EGP 1.07 billion after 363.291 million shares were traded through about 41,160 transactions.
