ADIB partners with UAE Ministry of Finance for NextGen eDirham cards
The eDirham cards enable its users to follow a smart payment method

Abu Dhabi - Mubasher: Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB) has partnered with the UAE Ministry of Finance (MoF) to add a new range of NextGen eDirham cards to government services.

The eDirham cards enable its users to follow a smart payment method accepted by over 5,000 government services in ministries, federal, and local authorities, according to a press release on Monday.

The system has many advantages, including low costs and the possibility of paying service fees through different payment channels such as eDirham apps for phones, e-wallet, vouchers, and self-service eKiosks.

The ADIB's eDirham Gold and ADIB eDirham Signature cards are the third generation of the eDirham cashless payment service.

The assistant undersecretary of resource and budget sector at the MoF, Saeed Rashid Al Yateem, commented: "Through strategic partnerships with banks and finance institutions, we have developed an innovative card that enables the relevant ministries, entities and government-related authorities to collect their fees in a reliable and highly efficient manner."

Meanwhile, the head of Global Transaction Banking at ADIB, Haytham El Maayergi, noted: "ADIB is committed to supporting the advancement of the UAE’s digital economy, which can boost the nation’s productivity and competitiveness."
