Cairo – Mubasher: Telecom Egypt announced applying to the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA) to obtain additional spectrum.

The state-run operator submitted a financial and technical offer for the spectrum that will be in the 2,600 megahertz (MHz) band, using the time division duplex (TDD) technology and with a right of use of 10 years, according to a bourse disclosure on Sunday.

The company is currently awaiting the authority’s approval.

This move comes in line with Telecom Egypt’s efforts to enhance its service quality and reliance on its network by injecting new investments into the allocated spectrum.
