Cairo – Mubasher: The Ministries of Finance, Planning and Economic Development, Trade and Industry, and Supply and Internal Trade will honor nine merchants who generated the highest sales under the presidential initiative to stimulate local consumption.

The three-month initiative, ending on 26 October, is aimed at boosting economic activities, supporting local production, and relieving the burdens on citizens especially the holders of ration cards, according to a statement on Tuesday.  

The initiative included up to 20% discounts on goods, as well as a 10% additional discount for ration card holders.

The finance ministry will honor the top merchants that achieved the highest sales, including Elaraby Group, Silicon 21 Electronics & Communications, and RN Chemicals.
