Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt's car sales increased by 13% to about 20,800 in August from around 18,300 in July, according to a report by the Automotive Marketing Information Council (AMIC).

Year-on-year (YoY), vehicle sales grew by 40% from 14,600 in August 2019, the report showed.

Sales of passenger cars came in the first position with 16,000 cars in August, compared to 12,500 in July and 10,700 in August last year.

Bus sales fell by about a third month-on-month (MoM) to 1,600 in August, but increased by 11.1% YoY.

Meanwhile, sales of trucks declined to 3,200 MoM from 3,300 in July, but grew by 29.5% from August 2019.
