Cairo – Mubasher: The Economic Affairs Committee at the Egyptian Parliament approved a draft law for awarding a dedicated automotive roll-on/roll-off terminal (RORO terminal) at East Port Said on a build-operate-transfer (BOT) basis, according to a statement on Tuesday.
The agreement was signed with Bolloré Africa Logistics (Bolloré), Toyota Tsusho Corporation (Toyota Tsusho), and NYK.
With investments of $180 million, the 270,000-square-metre RORO terminal will have a large wharf area of 600 metres.
The project is expected to create 40 direct jobs and 1,700 indirect jobs.
The decision will be referred to the General Committee for approval.
