Riyadh – Mubasher: Non-oil trade exchange between Saudi Arabia and Bahrain grew by 43% year-on-year (YoY) over the third quarter (Q3) of 2020 to $688.4 million, compared to $481 million in the same period in 2019.

In the first three quarters of the year, trade exchange between the two Gulf countries increased by 12% to surpass $2 billion, marking a YoY exponential growth when compared to $1.93 billion last year.

The rise comes after the restrictions imposed on cargo transportation through the King Fahd Causeway were loosened last August, Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB) said in a press release on Sunday.

Saudi Arabia is one of Bahrain’s key trading partners, with most exports and imports flowing between the two nations via the 25-kilometre-long causeway.
