Egypt seeks to increase exports to Africa to $30bn over five years
Egypt’s exports of plastics to African markets reached $425 million in 2019

Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt is looking to increase its exports to African countries to about $30 billion over the coming three to five years, the Middle East News Agency (MENA) reported on Tuesday, citing Abdel Aziz El-Sherif, a senior official at the Egyptian Commercial Service, as saying.

There is a huge opportunity for Egyptian exports of chemical products and fertilisers in the African markets which might reach $5-6 billion annually, El-Sherif added.

African imports of plastic products reach about $21 billion every year, while Egypt’s exports of plastics to African markets amounted to just $425 million in 2019.
