Mada Center Grants Digital Access Certification to Qatar Stock Exchange Website

Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) website was granted the Digital Access Certification by the Assistive Technology Centre (Mada) for applying the web content accessibility standards for persons with disabilities, elderly and those with functional limitations.

The certificate is awarded to websites that provide digital access to content and e-services, in addition to meeting the requirements and guideline for web content access.

Mada's award, which is the first of its kind to be granted to a financial institution in the State of Qatar, was handed over to Mr. Rashid bin Ali Al Mansouri, CEO of Qatar Stock Exchange.

Ms. Aisha Al Mahmoud, Director of QSE’s IT Department, expressed her pleasure at winning the certification and affirmed the keenness of QSE to enhance transparency in the market and facilitate digital access to QSE’s website and enhance the ability of this group to access the various electronic services provided by the website.

The QSE website is easy to access and effective with a distinctive design according to the latest international standards. It allows easy access to the QSE’s services and information, added by Al Mahmoud.

QSE’s keenness to achieve digital access comes in implementation of the State of Qatar's intertest in fostering digital access and inclusiveness consistent with QNV2030 and the UN’s Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD). Qatar has ranked first worldwide on the Digital Accessibility Rights Evaluation Index 2020 (DARE Index 2020) released by the Global Initiative for Inclusive Information and Communication Technologies (G3ict).

Assistive Technology Centre (Mada) is a private institution for public benefit, which was founded in 2010 as an initiative that aims at promoting digital inclusion and building a technology-based community that meets the needs of persons with functional limitations (PFLs) – persons with disabilities (PWDs) and the elderly in Qatar.
