Riyadh – Mubasher: Industry group GSMA has reelected Saudi Telecom Company (stc) as a board member for the 2021-2022 term, represented by the Group CEO, Nasser Al Nasser, making STC the first Saudi company to achieve and maintain such milestone.

STC has won the election of GSMA’s board that is comprised of the world’s biggest 25 telecom operators, according to a press release on Monday.

The election of STC captures its position as a local and regional digital transformation leader, actively contributing to creating digital solutions and services in different fields such as telecommunication, information technology (IT), digital payments, digital media, and cybersecurity.

Noteworthy to mention, STC was first elected in GSMA board in 2018 as a recognition for its remarkable efforts in leading digital transformation in the Middle East region.

The GSMA represents the interests of mobile operators worldwide, uniting more than 750 operators and nearly 400 companies in the broader mobile ecosystem, including handset and device makers, software companies, equipment providers and internet companies, as well as organisations in adjacent industry sectors, according to GSMA's website.

It also produces the industry-leading MWC events held annually in Barcelona, Los Angeles and Shanghai, as well as the Mobile 360 Series of regional conferences.
