Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s e-commerce enablement startup ExpandCart has raised $2.5 million in a Series A funding round, led by Sawari Ventures with the Agility Ventures, the corporate venture capital (VC) arm of Agility, and Graphene Ventures, MENAbytes reported.

In addition, two angel investors also participated in the funding round of the platform that helps individuals and businesses build online stores in Arabic and English.

Amr Shawqy, the co-founder and CEO of ExpandCart, said, “We believe that technology can empower commerce and with that vision in mind, we have built solutions to help merchants expand their sales online and offline. This new round of funding will help us work on our ambitious roadmap of new innovative e-commerce solutions that we will be rolling out to supercharge e-commerce growth in the Middle East.”
