Egypt allocates EGP 5.7bn investments for Beheira in FY20/21

Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s Ministry of Planning and Economic Development has allocated EGP 5.7 billion in investments for Beheira in fiscal year 2020/2021, up by 113.6% year-on-year (YoY) from the allocated investments in FY19/20.

Developmental projects in the governorate has reached 605 in the FY20/21 plan, the Minister of Planning and Economic Development, Hala El-Saeed, said in a statement on Tuesday.

In addition, the number of villages that benefited from the Hayah Karima (A Decent Life) initiative amounted to 25, while the allocations directed for the initiative registered EGP 580.5 million with about 161,300 beneficiaries.

The housing and slum development sector accounted for 43.8% of total planned investments in Beheira with a value of EGP 2.5 billion, while the education sector made up 14.2% or EGP 807,4 million, the local development sector 14% (EGP 802 million), the transportation sector 9.2% (EGP 525.1 million), and the irrigation sector 7.1% (EGP 407.5 million).
