UAE - Mubasher: The total number of companies operating at the UAE's free and investment zones reached around 58,600 by the end of mid-November 2020, up by about 9% from the same period in 2019, the Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported.

The licenses issued for these companies account for 8.4% of the total number of the licenses issued in the UAE, which registered 693,300 in November 2020, as shown by the National Economic Register.

The UAE has 44 free and investment zones, most of which are located in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

The rise in the number of companies located at the UAE's free and investment zones reflects the country's position as a regional hub for various economic activities.
