Part of the meeting.

Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s Minister of Environment, Yasmin Fouad, has discussed with representatives of Saudi Fas Company waste to energy (WTE) investment opportunities.

The meeting comes after the Egyptian cabinet had set the WTE tariff at 140 piasters/kW and issued the first law regulating waste management in the most populous Arab state, according to a statement on Sunday.

Recently, Egypt has witnessed a major transformation in dealing with the environment through pursuing two paths in parallel, namely; limiting pollution sources and creating a generation that is aware of the importance of natural resources and their preservation, Fouad said.

Moreover, she noted that the environment ministry seeks to create an added value to the private sector to participate in environmental work while creating green job opportunities, sustaining the environment resources and boosting the investment wheel.
