Egypt inks STATCOM installation deal worth EGP 431m
The deal includes the supply and installation a STATCOM for the first time in Egypt

Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, Mohamed Shaker, witnessed the signing of a contract between the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) and Hitachi ABB Power Grids.

The deal includes the supply and installation a static synchronous condenser (STATCOM) for the first time in Egypt at the main Oweinat substation, according to the latest modern technologies rated at more than 200 megavars (MVAR), according to a statement on Thursday.

The EGP 431 million project will be implemented over a period of 18 months starting from the date of signing the contract.
