Dubai – Mubasher: Emirates District Cooling (Emicool), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Dubai Investments, has implemented the Supreme Council of Energy's directives to reduce fuel surcharges on customers' electricity and water bills.

Emicool has cut revised fuel surcharges across all its district cooling plants in all sectors starting from 1 December 2020, according to a press release on Wednesday.

Emicool is preparing for applying these reductions through the upcoming monthly invoices to ensure the benefits to end-users.

Meanwhile, the company has continued to utilise innovative technologies to improve the sustainability of resources by recycling sewage water to replace potable water and 

The company also uses new pipeline technologies to cut carbon emissions and decrease water and energy consumption by offering efficient and environmentally-friendly district cooling services.

The CEO of Emicool, Adib Moubadder, said: "By connecting to more than 2,200 buildings in the UAE across various large sectors, malls and others, Emicool’s statistics of projects, agreements and contracts reflect the awareness among owners and developers of the growing importance of energy-saving and environmentally friendly district cooling systems."

It is noteworthy to mention that in November, the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy has issued a decree to cut fuel surcharge for electricity to 5 fils/kWh from 6.5 fils and for water to 0.4 fils for Imperial Gallon from 0.6 fils.
