Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia is studying a number of COVID-19 vaccines other than the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine for use, Deputy Minister for the Saudi Ministry of Health, Hani Jokhdar, told Al Arabiya.

A new vaccine could be authorised for use before the end of this year, Jokhdar revealed.

Over 305,000 people were registered to be vaccinated in the kingdom as of last Friday.

On 17 December, the GCC nation announced the start of the coronavirus vaccination programme.

The health ministry plans to open vaccination centres across the kingdom by next January.
