Riyadh – Mubasher: Arabian Shield Cooperative Insurance Company received an email from the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) approving the appointment of Bassel Al-Abdulkarim as the company’s CEO as of 3 January 2021.

Last October, the insurer’ board decided to appoint Al-Abdulkarim as the CEO effective from 1 January, according to a bourse statement on Monday.

The new CEO holds two master’s degrees in engineering management and information system management from California State University, in addition to a CII certificate from the UK’s Chartered Insurance Institute.

Moreover, he has over 10 years of experience in insurance and has served as a shared services manager, then chief operations officer (COO), and deputy CEO.
