Egypt builds EGP 63bn housing, infrastructure projects in Upper Egypt since 2014
The country invested EGP 13.2 billion in the housing sector

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Ministry of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities has been implementing developmental projects at a cost of EGP 63 billion in Upper Egypt since the President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi took office in 2014.

The country invested EGP 13.2 billion in the housing sector to establish 130,892 residential units, EGP 389 billion in developing 94 slum areas, and EGP 11.3 billion in building 931 kilometres of main roads, the Minister of Housing, Assem El-Gazzar, said in a statement on Tuesday.

The ministry also invested EGP 34.5 billion in implementing 271 water and sanitation projects and renovating 1,654 existing water and sanitation plants and networks and EGP 3.6 billion in constructing 412 service buildings.
