Banks, EGX off on Thursday in celebration of Coptic Christmas
Trading will be resumed on 10 January

Cairo – Mubasher: The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) announced that all banks will be closed on Thursday, 7 January, on the occasion of the Coptic Christmas.

Banks will reopen on Sunday, 10 January, the CBE said in a statement on Tuesday.

Moreover, the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) also said that trading will be halted on 7 January to be resumed on 10 January.

The government has previously announced that 7 January will be a paid day-off for all employees working at ministries, state bodies, and public- and private-sector companies.
