EGX ends Wednesday in green on foreign purchases
Foreign investors were net buyers with EGP 43.21 million

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Wednesday’s trading session on a positive note on the back of foreign purchases.

The main EGX30 index advanced by 1.13% to 10,952 points, while the small- and mid-cap EGX70 EWI rose by 0.53% to 2,152 points.

Likewise, the broader EGX100 EWI climbed by 0.78% to 3,125 points, whereas the EGX50 EWI increased by 1.07% to 2,272 points.

The market cap value grew by EGP 4.08 billion to close at EGP 660.15 billion on Wednesday from EGP 656.06 billion on Tuesday.

A total of 460.83 million shares were exchanged at a turnover of EGP 1.38 billion through around 41,960 transactions.

Local and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 27.82 million and EGP 15.38 million, respectively, while foreign investors were net buyers with EGP 43.21 million.

The EGX will be off on Thursday in celebration of the Coptic Christmas. Trading will be resumed on Sunday, 10 January.
