Saudi health minister gets second vaccine dose; launches "Health Passport” service
The service ensures that the passport holder has received the two doses of the Covid-19 vaccine.

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Minister of Health, Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah, has received his second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine on Thursday, according to an official statement. 

On 17 December 2020, the minister received his first dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine when the ministry announced the start of the coronavirus vaccination programme. 

Moreover, the minister and the head of the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), Abdullah bin Sharaf Al-Ghamdi, launched the “Health Passport” service via Tawakkalna application.

The service aims to ensure that the passport holder has received the two doses of the Covid-19 vaccine and became immune to the virus.

So far, more than 130,000 people in Saudi Arabia received the vaccine, according to the minister. 

On Wednesday, health authorities in the kingdom reported 118 new coronavirus cases, taking the count to 363,377 so far.
