Egypt’s annual core inflation drops to 3.8% in December 2020 – CBE
The monthly core CPI recorded zero in the last month of 2020

Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s annual core inflation rate retreated to 3.8% in December 2020, compared to 4% a month earlier, according to data released by the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE).

The monthly core consumer price index (CPI) recorded zero in the last month of 2020, compared to 0.2% in December 2019 and to zero in November 2020, the CBE said in a statement on Sunday.

In addition, the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) revealed that the country’s annual headline inflation rate fell to 6% in December 2020, down from 6.8% in the prior month.
