Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince, Mohammed bin Salman, announced a plan to build “THE LINE”, a zero-carbon city at $500 billion flagship NEOM business zone, Reuters reported on Sunday.
THE LINE, which will extend for 170 kilometres, will feature “carbon-positive urban developments powered by 100% clean energy,” the crown prince said.
The infrastructure of the project will cost from $100 billion to $200 billion, he told reporters.
Construction of the project will begin in the first quarter of 2021. The city is expected to create 380,000 jobs and contribute SAR 180 billion ($48 billion) to the gross domestic product (GDP) by 2030.
