Dubai's Consumer Confidence Index registers highest level since 2017
83% of consumers expect an improvement in Dubai's economy

UAE - Mubasher: Dubai's Consumer Confidence Index recorded 142 points during the fourth quarter (Q4) of 2020, marking the highest level since the third quarter (Q3) of 2017, Dubai Economy referred.

Dubai registered 133 points in the index, highlighting consumer's perceptions of the economy and expectations of buying and saving, in Q4-19 and 132 points in Q3-2020, according to a recent press release.

A total of 83% of consumers expect an improvement in Dubai's economic conditions over the next 12 months, and 85% of them are anticipating new job opportunities.

Meanwhile, 54% of consumers plan to reduce outdoor entertainment to balance expenses and income.

The CEO of the Commercial Compliance & Consumer Protection Sector in Dubai Economy, Mohammed Ali Rashed Lootah, said: "During the last quarter of 2020 as many as 82% consumers were positive on the state of their personal finances over the next 12 months, compared to 79% in the same period last year, and optimism was particularly high among 84% of UAE citizens."
