UAE's holdings of US Treasury bonds hit $36.8bn in November
Japan topped the holders of the US debt instruments

UAE - Mubasher: The UAE has raised its holdings of the US Treasury bonds by over 26.5% month-on-month (MoM) to $36.8 billion in November 2020, compared to around $29.1 billion in October.

The UAE has raised its investments in the US debt instruments in November after reducing them in October and September, according to the latest data by the US Department of the Treasury.

On an annual basis, the UAE's holdings of the US Treasury bonds declined by 7.8% or $3.1 billion in November 2020, compared to $39.9 billion in the year-ago period.

At the Arab level, the UAE ranked third among the US bonds' holders after Saudi Arabia with $137.6 billion and Kuwait with $46.1 billion.

Globally, countries have decreased their holdings of the US Treasury bonds to $7.053 trillion in November, compared to $7.068 trillion in October.

Japan topped the holders of the US debt instruments with $1.260 trillion in November, followed by China with $1.063 trillion.
