Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Telecom Company (stc) announced the launch of the Advanced Company for Technology and Cybersecurity with the aim to provide advanced cybersecurity services and solutions in the business sector.

The launch will meet the growing demand for digital services, in line with the group’s “DARE” strategy for digital transformation and growth and the Saudi Vision 2030 goals, according to a press release.

Moreover, it coincides with the unprecedented circumstances wrought by the Covid-19 pandemic, which forced many companies and government bodies to opt for digital solutions to ensure business continuity.

Board Chairman of the new company, Haithem Mohammed Al Faraj, said the firm seeks to build a trusted platform for digital economy leveraging world-leading cybersecurity capabilities in a bid to empower and protect the critical economic infrastructure as well as government and private services.

Researchers expect cybercrimes to cost the world $6 trillion in 2021. There is a hacker attack every 39 seconds, and the world is facing a scarcity in skilled cybersecurity professionals and is projected, according to experts, to see 3.5 million unfilled cybersecurity jobs in 2021.
