Many existing business partners opened new offices and innovation centres

UAE - Mubasher: Dubai Science Park, a leading science and healthcare business district, has attracted over 60 leading global biotechnology, healthcare, life sciences, pharmaceutical, and light manufacturing companies in 2020, the Dubai media office reported.

These new companies have increased the total number of business partners at Dubai Science Park to more than 400 companies, in addition to 4,000 professionals based in the Park.

The new top global companies include New York Stock Exchange-listed biotechnology multinational Biogen and Dubai-based DGrade.

With a presence in over 120 countries, Indian’s largest biopharmaceutical company, Biocon, was also among the new businesses at Dubai Science Park.

Besides the addition of new businesses, several existing business partners opened new offices and innovation centres to develop new products, such as Germany’s life sciences leader Bayer.

Moreover, the US-based IFF opened a new creation, application, and innovation centre for its Taste, Food & Beverage division in Dubai Science Park earlier this year to further expand in Africa, Middle East, Turkey, and India (AMETI).

The Managing Director of Dubai Science Park, Marwan Abdulaziz Janahi, said: "In Dubai Science Park, our business partners have been at the heart of the region’s response to the pandemic, providing cutting-edge testing and disinfection services."

Janahi added: "With a renewed sense of hope as the region shifts its focus to growth, scientific innovation will play an increasingly critical role in the UAE’s knowledge-based economy."
