UAE stock markets witness positive performance in January
The benchmark index of the DFM rose by around 6.5% in January

UAE - Mubasher: The UAE stock markets have concluded January 2021 on a green note.

The benchmark index of the Dubai Financial Market (DFM) rose by around 6.5% to settle at 2,654.06 points in January, compared to 2,491.97 points in December 2020.

The market cap value increased by AED 16.76 billion to AED 356.74 billion in January, compared to AED 339.98 billion in the earlier month.

The banks sector was up 8.9% after Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB) and Emirates NBD gained 7.4% and 12.6%, respectively.

As for the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX), the main index inched up 10.8% to close January at 5,593.48 points, compared to 5,045.31 points during the previous session.

The banks sector led the risers with around 11.2% after First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) rose around 14.5% during the month.

The market cap value exceeded AED 789.81 billion in January, compared to AED 728.23 billion in December.
