Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Ministry of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities established about 202,180 social housing units for limited-income people between 2014 and 2020.
According to official data reviewed by Mubasher, the residential units were built in 18 new cities: New Cairo, El-Shorouk, Badr City, El-Obour, New Obour City, 15th of May City, New October City, Sadat City, New Nubaria City, New Borg El-Arab City, New Fayoum, New Beni Suef, New Minya, New Assiut, New Sohag, New Akhmim, New Qena, and New Aswan.
Around 148,580 residential units were established in 14 new cities at a cost of EGP 19.95 billion.
