Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt has entered into agreements to receive 100 million doses of the coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccine in 2021, the Minister of Health and Population, Hala Zayed, announced.

The country is expected to receive a batch of 8.6 million doses of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine in the coming period as part of an agreement that includes 40 million doses with Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, Zayed said in a statement on Sunday.

A new batch of the Chinese Sinopharm vaccine will arrive in hours, she added.

Starting next week, Egyptians can register on the ministry’s website to take the vaccine in vaccination centres located in 27 governorates in the country.
