UAE - Mubasher: Peru has recorded a 550-fold increase in its total exports to the UAE between 2011 and 2020, with an accumulated growth of more than $3.3 billion. 

This announcement was made on the sidelines of the 10th year participation of Peru's Trade, Tourism, and Investment Office in Gulfood 2021, being held on 21-25 February in Dubai, according to a press release on Tuesday.

Peru’s total agricultural exports reached $7.55 billion in 2020, up 6.7% year-on-year (YoY) from 2019, drawn from fruit exports representing $4.061 billion.

During its participation in the world's largest annual food and beverage trade exhibition, Peru is exploring new business opportunities and sharing its knowledge with local industry leaders. 

The Director of the Trade, Tourism, and Investment Office of Peru in the UAE, Alvaro Silva Santisteban, said: "Gulfood has proven to be ‘the exhibition’ to further expand our trade into the region and highlight our presence as a sustainable food security participant."
