Dubai – Mubasher: Emirates NBD Capital, the investment banking arm of Emirates NBD, has completed 60 debt capital transactions in 2020 across the GCC, Turkey, India, China, and Russia.
Emirates NBD Capital ranked third in terms of the number of debt capital deals executed last year in international Sukuk, as shown by Bloomberg.
The investment bank was also placed among the top seven in the dollar bond issuance across Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East, and Africa (CEEMEA) in 2020.
The investment bank has conducted several Sukuk transactions during 2020, including Islamic Development Bank’s $1.5 billion sustainable Sukuk.
The team implemented its first two transactions from Russia, pricing a $600 million five-year senior bond for Credit Bank of Moscow and a $300 million Tier 1 bond for Sovcombank.
The bank has also led five environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issuances, such as the $500 million five-year transition Sukuk for Etihad Airways.
In January 2021, the bank's debt capital markets (DCM) team priced ten transactions.
