EGX loses EGP 5.3bn in market cap at Tuesday's close
The market’s turnover amounted to EGP 1.76 billion

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Tuesday’s trading session on a negative note with the main EGX30 index sliding by 1.15% to 11,416 points.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) fell by 0.68% to EGP 61 after generating EGP 143.177 million in turnover.

Meanwhile, the small- and mid- cap EGX70 EWI declined by 1.45% to 2,370 points, while the EGX100 EWI dropped by 1.34% to 3,391 points.

Similarly, the EGX50 EWI went down by 1.37% to 2,366 points.

The market cap retreated by EGP 5.3 billion to close at EGP 700.946 billion.

Local investors were net sellers with EGP 67.5 million, while foreign and Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 45.5 million and EGP 22 million, respectively.

The market’s turnover amounted to EGP 1.76 billion after 759.65 million shares were exchanged through about 53,430 transactions.
