Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Thursday’s trading session on a positive note on the back of local purchases.
The main EGX30 index rose by 1.6% to close at 11,617 points after the heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) advanced by 1.7% to EGP 62.4 at a turnover of EGP 101.17 million.
Likewise, the small- and mid-cap EGX70 EWI increased by 0.93% to 2,384 points, while the EGX100 EWI climbed by 1.14% to 3,424 points.
Meanwhile, the EGX50 EWI added 0.97% to 2,379 points.
The market cap grew by EGP 7.3 billion to close at EGP 709.304 billion.
Local investors were net buyers with EGP 56.95 million, while foreign and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 32.89 million and EGP 24.05 million, respectively.
The market’s turnover reached EGP 1.8 billion after 798.512 million shares were exchanged through about 53,670 transactions.
