IKEA opens second branch in Egypt
The Swedish furniture seller launched 1,400 new products in Egypt

Cairo – Mubasher: IKEA has launched its second branch in Egypt in collaboration with Al-Futtaim Group and MARAKEZ for Real Estate Investment, a subsidiary of the Saudi Fawaz Abdulaziz Alhokair Co.

The new two-storey outlet, located over an area 20,00 square metres (sqm) in Mall of Arabia in the 6th of October City, is expected to receive more than 3 million visitors in 2021, the Managing Director of IKEA for the UAE, Qatar, Egypt, and Oman, Vinod Jayan, said in a press conference on Wednesday. 

The IKEA store, which has been implemented over 18 months, will serve about 25 million people in west Cairo.

The Swedish furniture seller has launched 1,400 new products in Egypt, bringing the total number of products to 7,500, Jayan added.

In 2013, IKEA opened its first store at Cairo Festival City Mall over an area of 32,000 sqm.
