Egypt plans more than 2,000 development projects in Upper Egypt in FY20/21

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Ministry of Planning and Economic Development issued a report on the citizen investment plan for fiscal year 2020/2021 in Upper Egypt.

The report showed that total government investments directed to Upper Egypt governorates amounted to EGP 104 billion in fiscal years 2018/2019, 2019/2020, and 2020/2021, an increase of 27% from the prior three fiscal years, according to a statement on Thursday.

Total government investments for 392 development projects in Assiut reached EGP 7.1 billion in FY20/21, while Luxor has planned government investments of EGP 2.86 billion in 174 projects.

In addition, Fayoum acquired EGP 2.9 billion in allocated investments for 191 projects, El-Minya EGP 4.1 billion for 327 projects, and Beni Suef EGP 3.9 billion for 290 projects.

The government also allocated EGP 6.6 billion in planned investments for 323 projects in Qena, EGP 6.9 billion for 273 projects in Aswan, and EGP 5.8 billion for Sohag.
