Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (HRSD) has launched the Professional Verification Programme in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC).
The new programme will ensure that foreign labourers in the kingdom have the basic set of skills needed to perform the occupations they were recruited for. This will be done through conducting theoretical and practical tests in the labourers' fields of specialisation, according to a statement on Sunday.
Through the programme, the Gulf country seeks to raise the quality of work done by vocational workers, improve the quality of services provided while enhancing productivity and stopping the flow of unskilled labour to the country.
The programme targets more than 1,000 specialised professions. It will examine workers in their home countries prior to arrival in the kingdom in collaboration with international examination centres and will further test existing workers in the kingdom in cooperation with local certified examination centres.
