Cairo – Mubasher: Alexandria Customs collected EGP 7.03 billion in customs duties, taxes, and other charges during February.

The total value of taxes and customs duties collected for imported goods at Alexandria port amounted to EGP 1.922 billion during the second month of 2021, according to a statement by the Ministry of Finance on Thursday.

Additionally, the value-added tax (VAT) and other charges imposed on these goods reached EGP 5.753 billion during the month, the statement showed.

The imported goods included cars, spare parts, tobacco, and production inputs.

Alexandria Port also exported goods during the month, including fertilisers, marble, phosphates, ceramics, sugar, and clothing. Total charges imposed on the export of these goods reached EGP 4.263 million.
