Cairo – Mubasher: The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) has instructed banks to streamline account opening procedures.
Under the new instructions, self-employed people, owners of micro-sized enterprises, and craftsmen will be able to open current and savings banking accounts with a national ID without the need for documentation of income or a business registration licence, according to a statement on Wednesday.
Submitting a rental contract or utility bills can be a proof of the location of residence, the statement showed.
