Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Customs Authority collected EGP 2.5 billion in taxes, customs duties, and other charges at Dekheila and Damietta ports during February.

The total value of taxes and customs duties collected for imported goods at Dekheila and Damietta ports reached EGP 456.5 million last month, the Ministry of Finance said in a statement on Sunday.
In addition, the value-added tax (VAT) and other charges imposed on the imported goods at the two ports amounted to EGP 2.04 billion.
The imported goods included wheat, sugar, legumes, maize, components of air conditioners, fridges, fans, fabrics, wood, yarn, and motorcycle and car spare parts.
Additionally, the two ports exported goods that include aluminium, food products, stainless steel, and marble at a total value of EGP 5.7 billion. Charges collected for the exported goods reached EGP 3.258 million.
