EGX loses EGP 6.5bn in market cap at Sunday's close
The market’s turnover amounted to EGP 789.24 million

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Sunday’s trading session on a negative note, pressured by foreign selloffs.

The main EGX30 index fell by 1.4% to end the session at 10,417 points, while the small- and mid-cap EGX70 EWI declined by 1.02% to 1,993 points.

Likewise, the EGX100 EWI retreated by 1.19% to 2,927 points, whereas the EGX50 EWI dropped by 1.5% to 2,032 points.

The market cap lost EGP 6.49 billion to register EGP 646.021 billion on Sunday from EGP 652.51 billion last Thursday.

The market’s turnover amounted to EGP 789.24 million after 484.99 million shares were exchanged through about 36,220 transactions.

Local and Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 12.56 million and EGP 3.61 million, while foreign investors were net sellers with EGP 16.18 million.
