Cairo – Mubasher: Alexandria Customs collected EGP 7.651 billion in customs duties, taxes, and other charges during March.
The total value of taxes and customs duties collected for imported goods at Alexandria port stood at EGP 2.043 billion during the third month of 2021, according to a statement by the Ministry of Finance on Monday.
Moreover, the value-added tax (VAT) and other charges imposed on these goods amounted to EGP 5.599 billion last month.
The imported goods included wheat, legumes, maize, production inputs, cars, spare parts, and tobacco.
Additionally, the port also exported several goods during March, including fertilisers, marble, phosphates, ceramics, sugar, and clothes. Charges imposed for these exports reached EGP 3.552 million.
